SAN JOSE, CA-Those who follow @GlobeStcom on Twitter and @GlobeStLIVE may have seen a post teasing the announcement, but GlobeSt.com has learned that Equity Office has signed a long-term lease with InvenSense Inc. for 130,000 square feet at its 1745 Technology Dr. property here in San Jose. InvenSense's lease will begin on August 1, 2013 and include floors one through five of the 228,000-square-foot class A building.

InvenSense was founded in 2003 and is currently headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA, with offices in Taiwan, Japan, Korea, China and Dubai. The 1745 Technology building will serve as the company's new corporate headquarters.

GlobeSt.com recently reported that companies would start to look south to the San Jose area as pricing tightens in northern areas like Palo Alto, Mountain View and Sunnyvale. We also reported recently that San Jose is currently undergoing a “metamorphosis,” and is under pressure to meet the changing worker demand.

Transaction details for this lease were not disclosed.

Check back in the next day or so for an update on this story with thoughts from Todd Hendrick, SVP of leasing with Equity Office, and from CBRE's Rob Shannon.
