PHOENIX-California-based RiverRock Real Estate Group has promoted regional manager Michelle Weber to the position of regional vice president in its Phoenix office. In her new position, which was official May 31, Weber is being charged with growing the firm's property management portfolio, which currently total 25 million square feet in California and Arizona.

According to RiverRock founder and principal John Combs, Weber joined the company close to three years ago and in that time, she's brought on board many Arizona clients and their retail, industrial and office properties.

"In Phoenix, we've grown substantially because clients are looking for other solutions," Combs says. "They might be looking for a solution in which the company is merging, or spinning off, or in which brokerage was the primary focus." RiverRock's core competency is property management and construction, period.

And Weber, herself, has also been responsible for the Phoenix growth. "She's one of those people with huge likeability and the skill set to back it up," Combs tells GlobeSt.com. "The worst day for her would be if a client was disappointed." He goes on to say that because of Weber's high level of service and involvement, combined with a strong background, "clients have awarded us additional properties because they're happy with her work."

More properties means more staff – during the past year, Weber has doubled her staff and is anticipated to hire more. Furthermore, Combs says RiverRock has combined two local offices into one and has another large portfolio coming online.

"We think, by year end, we'll be managing around 6.5 million square feet," Combs says. "The part we watch while we're growing is if we're still delivering value at the level we want. That means being focused on the right people to hire."
