QUAKERTOWN-Optimum Hotel Brokerage has completed sale of the Best Western Quakertown. Joe McCann, Optimum's president, was the exclusive broker representing the sellers of the family-owned property who had owned it for more than 30 years.
The buyers of the 44-unit hotel were local investors, who were not identified. Neither was the purchase price.
McCann said that Optimum Hotel Brokerage conducted an intense but confidential market campaign that brought over 20 offers on the property. “We achieved a sale price within 2% of the seller's asking price,” he said.
In the past 12 months, Optimum has sold the Days Inn Groton and the Flagship Inn in Groton, CT; the Hampton Inn Lehighton in Lehighton, PA; the Inn at Panther Valley in Allamuchy, NJ; the York View Hotel in York, PA; the Skyview Plaza Hotel in Philadelphia, PA; the Econolodge Farmingdale in Farmingdale, NJ; the Ramada Inn in Galloway, NJ; and the Litchfield Inn in Litchfield Connecticut.
McCann is past president of Hotel Brokers International, the real estate organization. HBI has 50 hotel real estate broker members, and provides the hospitality industry with a unified and advertising and marketing approach.
He is the current chairman of the Penn State Hotel and Restaurant Society representing the more than 7,000 alumni of Penn State's School of Hospitality Management.
Optimum provides an array of broker services, including expert witness testimony in hotel bankruptcy, distressed hotel litigation, franchising, and hotel operations.
