FLORHAM PARK, NJ-The Rockefeller Group announced today that it will develop a four-story, 100,000-square-foot medical office building for Summit Medical Group at The Green at Florham Park, a 268 acre master-planned complex here.
The rapidly-growing Summit Medical Group signed a 15-year lease for the entire building, which will be located at 140 Park Ave.
The building will be used for medical offices, ambulatory care and radiology services and will include an ambulatory surgery center on a separate floor. Construction will begin in September 2013, according to Rockefeller Group, with occupancy expected by early 2015.
The building will be the latest to break ground at The Green, where BASF Corporation opened its North American Headquarters building at 100 Park Ave. last year. BASF's ultra-modern facility achieved LEED® Platinum designation from the U.S. Green Building Council, becoming one of only five buildings in North America to earn that level of recognition for core and shell as well as interiors.
“The Rockefeller Group is pleased to add Summit Medical Group to the growing list of tenants who have chosen to locate at The Green at Florham Park, including BASF Corporation and The New York Jets,” said Rockefeller's Les Smith Jr.
“Summit Medical Group has a reputation as one of northern New Jersey's most elite medical practices and its network includes some of the area's best physicians,” he said. “It will make an excellent addition to the community and this terrific project will be an outstanding addition to The Green at Florham Park.”
Summit Medical Group, the state's largest privately-held multispecialty medical practice, is headquartered in Berkeley Heights. The Group chose The Green at Florham Park site because it is interested in expanding its client base in Essex and Morris counties.
“This centrally-located site offers great access to premier medical services for our patients and the surrounding communities,” said Jeffrey Le Benger, M.D., chairman and chief executive officer at Summit Medical Group.
Cushman & Wakefield's Marc Rosenberg and Summit Medical Group Chief of Operations Karen Graham represented Summit Medical Group in its site selection and lease negotiations. The Rockefeller Group was represented in-house by Clark Machemer and Johanna Chervak.
