Opus Building Retail Center in Glen Ellyn

CHICAGO—American shoppers increasingly look for food options beyond those provided by traditional grocers like Jewel-Osco, Dominick’s or Kroger’s and instead, hunt for stores that can provide organic or fresher foods. The Opus Group and the village of Glen Ellyn have made use of that craving by bringing in The Fresh Market as an anchor tenant for a new 31,175-square-foot retail center at 285 Roosevelt Rd. just west of Lambert.

“There’s a niche that they think they can fill,” says Sean Spellman, vice president and general manager of Opus Development Company, L.L.C. The Fresh Market, which Opus will finish in late 2013 and open later in the year or in early 2014, will occupy 20,300-square-feet in the center.
