CENTURY CITY, CA-CRE veteran Andy Stewart has launched BentleyGlobal, a new brokerage and advisory firm that will be headquartered at 1999 Ave. of the Stars here.
BentleyGlobal will focus on leasing and asset management in Southern California with its six-person staff. Stewart says the new firm, where he serves as president/CEO, will offer the personal touch.
“What's happening in our industry is there's been a lot of consolidation, a lot of larger firms gobbling up smaller firms and rolling them up into their business model,” Stewart tells GlobeSt.com. “Unfortunately, their customers get rolled up, too.” Stewart claims he wants to reinstill “the entrepreneurial spirit in the brokerage business, but in a corporate environment.”
Stewart is the former founder of KM Brokerage Services. Before that, he was director of leasing at Trizec Properties Inc. where he was responsible for the leasing and marketing of a 3.5-million- square-foot, billion-dollar commercial real estate portfolio. Stewart has also held executive positions with Shuwa Investments Corp., Tishman West Companies, and JMB Realty.
While brokerage representation will be the new firm's primary line of service, BentleyGlobal will also offer fee-driven portfolio and single asset management, property management and advisory services.
At launch, BentleyGlobal's initial client base consists of brokerage and advisory representation for a national portfolio of commercial real estate assets totaling four million square feet of office, retail and industrial properties. Stewart declined to name current clients. “We're working on some deals with some technology clients that are based in Santa Monica and Venice,” he says. “And also a variety of other clients throughout Southern California.”
As reported earlier by GlobeSt.com, Century City's last parcel of undeveloped land will soon have ten large homes built on it.
