LOS ANGELES-In an update to our earlier story on the debut of the revamped Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles International airport, DFS Group will bring such luxury brands as Hermes, Gucci, Burberry and Chopard in as part of 36 new retail shops at the terminal.

Partnering with the Westfield Group, which curated the retail assortment and manages overall operations of commercial offerings at the airport, the retail outlets will seek to incorporate luxury global offerings with local flavor. The outlets chosen include several that are debuting stores in an airport setting, including Hublot, Bottega Veneta and Chloe.

The beauty brands to be featured in what's billed as the largest airport beauty floor in the country include SK-II, Jurlique, Benefit, Clarisonic and L.A. Smashbox. Other offerings include Chopard, Zenith and Vertu iAn watches and jewelry; Salvatore Ferragamo in fashion; and three limited spirits editions that will be specific to LAX: Johnnie Walker Blue Sandblasted Pack, limited to 130 bottles; the Remy Louis Rare Cask by Remy Martin; and the Gran Patron Piera. The latter two are North American debuts.

“After more than 30 years here in Los Angeles, we are very excited and proud to play our part in furthering the evolution of the world traveler's retail experience at LAX,” said Philippe Schaus, chairman and CEO of DFS, in a prepared statement. “Los Angeles, where we opened our first airport operation on the American mainland, has always been important to DFS' heritage. We look forward to continuing this journey with our partner, Westfield, as we revitalize airport retail at LAX and deliver a line up of luxury brands as never before been experienced in Los Angeles.”

The stores will be part of a 150,000-square-foot Great Hall at the terminal. The revamped Tom Bradley Terminal will offer more than twice the square footage and nearly three times the number of previous stores. Of that total, five are local L.A. concepts and 27 are new to LAX. Nine have never been seen in an airport before.

DFS has also integrated an L.A.-themed spirits tasting bar adjacent to the Spirits & Wine shops. Travelers will be able to sample cocktails and other drinks. The DFS Group has also incorporated its Platinum Services Club concierge services into its airport operations.

As reported earlier by GlobeSt.com, the Delta Airlines terminal at LAX is also getting a facelift.
