SAN FRANCISCO-Oyster Development has begun land work for the 114-condo development it plans to build in the Mission District.

The $70 million project that will eventually rub shoulders with a renovated New Mission movie theater, according to the San Francisco Business Times. The project's residential units will average 814 square feet. The eight-story building, to be located at 2558 Mission Street will have 14,750 square feet of retail and 77 residential parking spaces.

Build Group is the contractor on the Mission Street project. The loan was arranged by John Manning and Alex Witt of Jones Lang LaSalle. In addition to the Mission Street site, Oyster also bought a parcel at 1296 Shotwell, which will be handed over to the Mayor's Office On Housing for development of affordable rental housing.
