HOUSTON-The Houston Business Journal reports that developer OliverMcMillian of San Diego is ready to launch construction on its mixed-use River Oaks District today. Originally unveiled in 2007, plans for the 14-acre, 650,000-square-foot development were put on the back burner during the recession and financial downturn.

The development on Westheimer will include 252,000 square feet of retail, restaurants, cafes and an eight-screen iPic Theaters cinema; 92,000 square feet of boutique office space and 279 residential units. All-in costs are estimated at $450 million.
