EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ-In a targeted push, Cushman & Wakefield's property management team in the state has added several new industrial property management assignments in recent months.
The Corporate Occupier & Investor Services team led by Sam Collison is moving to increase property management assignments in key regions around the country, says C&W's Eileen Carey.
“As a corporate initiative, Cushman & Wakefield selected New Jersey as one of three U.S. industrial hubs in which to strategically expand its property management focus,” said Carey, a managing director for the team in New Jersey and Connecticut.
She said business had already doubled since Collison came on board last year.
The newest management projects are:
- two James Campbell assets in Monroe, and South Brunswick
- a TIAA-CREF property in Teterboro.
“We manage our clients' properties as if they were our own,” said Collison, who previously worked for both Liberty Property Trust and Prologis. “We look at the individual asset and the owner's goals, and then develop an appropriate, customized strategy.”
The firm's in-house construction practice also provides full tenant build-out services.
The team's intensified focus on industrial property is connected to its Mobile Engineering and Maintenance services, another initiative launched in New Jersey last year.
The program extends repair and maintenance services to commercial real estate buildings that do not require full-time, on-site staff. Warehouse/distribution assets frequently fall into this category, Carey said.
In total, the East-Rutherford based team's portfolio management practice includes 20 million square feet of office and industrial space leased to Fortune 500 companies she said.
