PLANO, TX-Adams Golf has decided to stay put at its current digs, renewing a 65,135-square-foot lease in space that is currently used for its corporate headquarters and golf design facility. The decision to stay came following intense scrutiny in the market that was "within reasonable proximity to its employee base," says Bob Hagewood with Stream Realty Partners.
Hagewood, who partnered with Stream Realty Partners colleague Damian Rivera to represent the tenant, tells GlobeSt.com that all manner of options, such as build-to-suit, relocation and expansion in the current location were also considered. When push came to shove, however, the tenant decided to remain at 2801 Plano Pkwy. Adams Golf moved into its location in 2008, and was acquired by Adidas Group in 2012. Adidas then added the company to its TaylorMade-Adidas Golf business segment. Hagewood says upgrades to the space will take place to help accommodate employee growth.
The building in which Adams Golf is located is owned by IndCor Properties, which was represented by Jeff White and Mike McCartan with Mark V Commercial in the lease transaction. It's located in what's known as the East Plano submarket, miles to the east of Plano/North Dallas's booming "Platinum Corridor."
Still, it's not too far from Richardson, TX's Telecom Corridor, which is starting to make a comeback. "The East Plano industrial submarket has tightened substantially over the past 18 months to one of the healthiest levels since the telecom crash in the early 2000s," Hagewood comments. "The proximity to skilled labor, desirable housing and quality schools makes it an attractive option for companies to locate there."
