PRINCETON, NJ-The owners of Princeton Forrestal Village – a retail/office development that has undergone a series of identity adjustments over the years – are announcing today the establishment of a Center for Healthcare at the complex.

A new 40,000-square-foot medical/professional office building is being developed by Beacon Medical Realty and Summit Associates at Princeton Forrestal. Beacon Medical has told GlobeSt.com that is has options on land to accommodate two more healthcare buildings at the site.

Keying in to swelling activity in healthcare real estate in the Princeton area, Investcorp International, Inc. and Lincoln Equities Group, owners of Princeton Forrestal, said their strategy was to support and encourage the growth of healthcare offices at the mixed-use center.

“Our mixed-use strategy is unique to the region,” said LEG's Ken Flynn. I'd say it's one-of-a-kind in New Jersey. So we're quickly becoming an active center for healthcare, retail and office businesses.”

Joel Bergstein, LEG's president, added that Princeton Forrestal's proximity to several highly-rated hospital systems makes it a “perfect location to serve the healthcare needs of central New Jersey.”

There are currently a number of first-floor office spaces available for use by doctors, clinics or related health services, Bergstein said.

“Since moving to Forrestal Village, our practice has thrived,” said Dr. Barry Rossman, a urologist who has an office at Forrestal Village, and performs surgery at the surgical center located in an adjacent building. The doctor said patients appreciate the free parking at Princeton Forrestal – and the fact that the new University Medical Center of Princeton is close at hand.

Flynn noted that Robert Wood Johnson hospitals in Hamilton and New Brunswick, the Capital Health system in Hopewell, and St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick are also not far away.

Princeton Forrestal was originally marketed primarily as a shopping mall, but has always offered offices and mixed-use space as well. There is an array of shops, restaurants, a fitness center and office space at the center.

Princeton Forrestal Village is located on U.S. Route One South at College Road West, just north of the University Medical Center in Plainsboro, and two miles from downtown Princeton.
