Net Lease Reactions from 2013 Boston ICSC

The following are some rapid reactions from the floor of the ICSC conference in Boston:

More attendance than last year.
People liked going back to the old venue.
Strong attendance at the “retail runway” – new tenants entering into new england -
high optimism amongst owners, investors, brokers etc.
Only negative came from Mortgage brokers who have seen business slow down due to perception interest rates will rise.
Still lack of product in the Boston metro area.
Everyone is looking for more listings.
Lots of activity on the tenant and brokerage side.
Net lease investors are expanding their criteria due to low supply.
Lesser credit deals are becoming more acceptable.
Industrial properties are becoming more popular.
Even though interest rates may rise soon – the belief is cap rates will continue to compress in the near term.
