The following are some rapid reactions from the floor of the ICSC conference in Boston:
- More attendance than last year.
- People liked going back to the old venue.
- Strong attendance at the "retail runway" - new tenants entering into new england -
- high optimism amongst owners, investors, brokers etc.
- Only negative came from Mortgage brokers who have seen business slow down due to perception interest rates will rise.
- Still lack of product in the Boston metro area.
- Everyone is looking for more listings.
- Lots of activity on the tenant and brokerage side.
- Net lease investors are expanding their criteria due to low supply.
- Lesser credit deals are becoming more acceptable.
- Industrial properties are becoming more popular.
- Even though interest rates may rise soon - the belief is cap rates will continue to compress in the near term.
