AUSTIN-After doing business at 4107 Medical Pkwy. for 17 years, the Austin Apartment Association signed a lease for 7,914 square feet at Rockwood Village Center. The trade association will relocate to its new office space on Nov. 1.
“Our new location is more central to our members and has unlimited potential for future growth,” says AAA president Colleen Grahn, explaining the reason for the organization's move to 8620 Burnet Rd. " With the additional square footage, AAA will be able to increase their educational opportunities for members and provide more flexibility for committee meetings.”
The trade association represents and serves the rental housing industry, and is affiliated with the Texas Apartment Association and the National Apartment Association. Its membership is made up of property owners; management companies and on-site staff; and vendors who provide products and services to the industry.

- Virji Investment Corp. of Calgary, Alberta, Canada acquired the 17,867-square-foot Highland Plaza at 1458 and 1496 N. Higley Rd. for $4.25 million. Steve Julius and Jesse Goldsmith of CBRE represented the buyer and seller Mariah Properties VIII and Mariah Properties IX LLC in the transaction.
Phoenix
- Tucson-based Academy of Mathematics and Science South acquired a 17,500-square-foot flex/industrial building at 35th Avenue and Osborn Road for $1 million from J Firpo. Justin LeMaster, Gary Anderson and Mark Tuite with Cassidy Turley represented the seller. Ryan Timpani, Todd Noel and Keith Lambeth of Colliers International represented the buyer.
- A 15,120-square-foot Walgreens store has changed ownership for $4.2 million. Mark Ruble and Jamie Medress with Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services brokered the transaction of the property at 3502 W. Camelback Rd.

- The 34-unit Raintree Apartments at 8806 Redfield Lane has sold. Kent Myers, Joe James and Hector Granado with Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services brokered the transaction between the seller, a partnerhip, and the buyer, a limited liability company.
Edinburg
- A private investor sold the 96-unit Vista De Palmas at 1415 Freddy Gonzalez to a private buyer. Zar Haro and Michael Moffitt Jr. with Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services brokered the transaction.
Frisco
- The Dallas-Fort Worth franchisee for Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academies purchased 2.2 acres at the southeast corner of Independence Parkway and Rolater Road. Clay Mote with Venture Commercial represented the buyer. Michael Neitzel of Neitzel Real Estate Company LLC represented the seller.
Midland
- A limited partnership sold 2.8 acres at the southwest quadrant of North Loop 250 West and SH 191. Clay Mote with Venture Commercial represented the seller. Shirley Wood of Midland-based LMB Real Estate Group represented the buyer, which plans on developing a retail shopping center on the site.
Texarkana
- Moran Capital acquired the .7-acre site of a former service station at 2502 Richmond Rd. Venture Capital's Clay Mote represented the buyer. Jerry Brewer of NAI American Realty Company represented the seller.

- Kansas City, KS-based UMB Financial Corp.'s subsidiary UMB Bank NA signed a lease to occupy 5,887 square feet in the under-construction Hall Arts building at 2323 Ross Ave. In the interim, UMB has leased 3,284 square feet of office space at 2600 Network Boulevard in Hall Office Park in Frisco. Chad Owns with NorthMarq arranged financing for the borrower from a correspondent life company lender.

Robert L. Kennedy has joined Churchill Commercial Capital Inc. as a loan officer and Jason Carols as a loan analyst. Kennedy brings an extensive background in commercial real estate lending and mortgage banking to Churchill; previous positions include vice president of Bank of Arizona and assistant vice president of Irwin Union Bank. Mr. Kennedy has originated and serviced commercial real estate loans in over 20 states. He graduated from the University of Utah. Carols is a recent finance graduate from the University of Arizona, where he was the co-founder of the Real Estate Investment Club. He served internships with Holliday Development and work experience at Yelp, as well as charitable experience with the Amor Industries Mexico Housing Project.

- John Bielamowicz has been promoted to vice president of Henry S. Miller Brokerage's Dallas-For Worth industrial division. Bielamowicz joined the company in 2008. He received a Bachelors of Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate from the University of Texas at Arlington.
- Jay R. Lucas has joined Cushman & Wakefield of Texas Inc. as senior director in the firm's industrial group. He'll focus on agency leasing, tenant representation and investment sales. Lucas spent 25 years as president of the office and investment division of Harry B. Lucas Co. He was most recently president and CEO of CCIM Technologies, where he created the Site to Do Business online application, a premier commercial real estate technology. Lucas earned his BBA in Finance from the University of Texas.
- David Martinez has been hired as a property tax manager with Real Estate Tax Consultants. Martinez will be responsible for analyzing, appraising and appealing assessed values on commercial properties and business personal property accounts at appraisal districts. He previously served as a property tax manager with Grant Thornton LLP. Martinez received a bachelor's degree in business administration in entrepreneurship and strategic management.
- Charlie Morris has joined Cassidy Turley as senior vice president. In this role, Morris will provide comprehensive tenant representation services for Cassidy Turley's clients in the Uptown and CBD submarkets. Morris joins Cassidy Turley from Colliers International, where he specialized in office tenant representation with an emphasis in legal and corporate occupiers. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia.
Houston
- Enrique Gonzalez joined Boxer Property's construction team as senior chief engineer. He will oversee the company's construction management and space planning departments in Houston and will be responsible for the completion of tenant improvement projects in Houston and Boxer's regional markets outside of Texas. Gonzalez is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in architecture and has 17 years of experience in the commercial construction management industry, working with large firms including Summit DCK, Skanska, Faulkner and others.
