LEWISVILLE, TX-Dallas-based Cencor Realty Services and Kroger will launch construction in late 2013 on a Kroger Marketplace, adjacent to the 2,500-acre, master-planned Castle Hills. The 123,000-square-foot store will anchor a 350,000-square-foot retail property offering space for additional anchors, free-standing uses, small-shop retail and restaurant space.
The regional center will be at the southwest corner of SH 121 and Josey Lane. David Palmer, executive vice president in charge of development for Cencor, is directing the development, which will be leased by Cencor's siter company, the Weitzman Group. The store has a scheduled opening of Q2 2015.
“We have served the residents of Lewisville, and surrounding communities, for many years and are eager to introduce our Marketplace concept,” says Gary Huddleston, consumer affairs director for Kroger. “The opening of the Lewisville Marketplace will present a one-stop shopping destination and create more than 350 jobs. Earlier this month we opened a Marketplace in Wylie to much excitement. ” The store will represent Kroger's seventh Marketplace concept in the DFW area.
Kroger Marketplace will offer furniture, housewares, small appliances, toys, baby products, fine jewelry and a pharmacy along with an extensive variety of fresh food options, healthy meal solutions and traditional grocery items. Additionally, Texas-grown produce, fresh meat and seafood, natural and organic foods, specialty cheeses, international items, chef-prepared meals, artisan breads, and premium wine and beer will line the store's shelves and cases.
