ROCKVILLE, MD-In early 2014, property on Rockville Pike here will host a groundbreaking for one of the first-ever Even Hotels.

The InterContinental Hotels Group will cut the ribbon on The Rockville Even Hotel, at 1775 Rockville Pike in early 2014. The hotel will be a conversion from an existing Holiday Inn Express, which has closed and is in the process of being demolished, according to the Washington Business Journal.

InterContinental launched the Even Hotel brand in New York last year, but the first two Even Hotels announced at that time are still under construction and are not expected to open until 2015. The Rockville location and an Even hotel in Norwalk, CT, which is another hotel conversion, are expected to open in early 2014. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
