AAR to Establish Operations at Chennault International Airport

LAKE CHARLES, LA-Global aerospace manufacturer AAR Corp. revealed its intention to establish a 750-job aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul operation, occupying 520,000 square feet for MRO, plus another 118,000 square feet in Hangar H.

LAKE CHARLES, LA-Chicago-based AAR Corp. unveiled its intentions to develop a 750-job aircraft maintenance, repair and overall operation at Chennault International Airport. To that end, the company will occupy approximately 520,000 square feet for its MRO service and administration activities, plus an additional 118,000 square feet in the under-construction Hangar H.

Along with this, the aerospace manufacturer will hang on to approximately 250 former employees of predecessor Aeroframe Services, while creating 500 new direct jobs with an average salary of more than $46,600 a year, plus benefits. Louisiana Economic Development  estimates the project will result in an additional 526 new indirect jobs in the area, for a total of more than 1,000 new jobs.
