CHICAGO—Chicago-based JCF Real Estate and Commercial Advantage, Inc., a Merrillville, IN-based firm, have decided to align resources and operate as affiliates.

“Aligning JCF and Commercial Advantage is a natural step forward,” says John J. Fitzmaurice, the president of JCF. “We were looking to grow our brokerage division, and the experience brought to the table by [Commercial Advantage] will enable us to expand our capabilities throughout the entire Midwest.”

“The team at JCF Real Estate is a talented and dedicated group with a reputation for quality service,” says Lori Tubbs, the president of CA. “In addition to expanding our brokerage operations, I'm excited about the advantages that JCF's full-service real estate platform will lend to my clientele.”

JCF Real Estate was established in 1993 and operates in Northern Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan and provides property management, receivership/REO services, leasing, construction, investment and development. CA, a brokerage firm, was established in 1998 and specializes in industrial, commercial and multi-unit leasing, investment and site selection. They primarily work in the Northwest Indiana and south Chicago markets.

The two firms will continue to operate from both the Chicago and Merrillville locations. But with the expansion of the brokerage division through the affiliation, they hope to open new offices throughout the Midwest in the next few years.

JCF is currently developing and leasing The Corporate Reserve of St. Charles in the western suburb of St. Charles. It will feature more than 500,000-square-feet of office, restaurant, retail, and hotel space. They are also developing a seven-story, 500,000-square-foot, luxury apartment building at the southwest corner of Bryn Mawr Ave. and Delphia Ave. in Chicago. CA has a portfolio that includes industrial properties, golf courses, retail space and offices throughout Indiana. They have worked with a number of notable clients across a wide range of industries including BP, Jacobs Engineering, Electric Coat Technologies, among others.

"JCF and CA complement one another,” says Steve Chrastka, executive vice president of brokerage for JCF, “and this natural synergy will enhance our current relationships while creating new opportunities in expanding markets for both firms."
