SAN FRANCISCO-RiverRock Real Estate Group, a West Coast-based commercial real estate management and leasing firm, has been awarded the management of the commercial portion the Presidio, a historic site featuring 80 commercial buildings totaling 1.9 million square feet. With the addition of this assignment, the company now manages more than 25 million square feet of commercial space.

The 1,491-acre Presidio is within the 75,500-acre Golden Gate National Recreation Area. It is now one of San Francisco's most desirable communities, offering residential, commercial, parks, and a tourism and educational destination. RiverRock will oversee the management of the commercial space, which includes 170 tenants.

“The Presidio is a special site with a number of historic properties and an involved community of tenants,” says Jeffrey Deis, COO of the Presidio Trust. “We selected RiverRock Real Estate Group because we were convinced that they would be strong partners in the stewardship of the Presidio's buildings, and provide quality customer service to our tenants.”

John Combs, principal of RiverRock Real Estate Group, says “This is an exciting opportunity to manage properties that are such a rich part of our country's history.”

RiverRock has added Joe Vega, senior portfolio manager; Margaret Cheung, lease administrator; and Kaitlin Johnson, project coordinator, to help manage the portfolio. Kayla Egnew has relocated to Northern California to be the assistant property manager at the Presidio.
