BROOKFIELD, WI-An independent subsidiary of Cargill Inc. of Minneapolis will own 80% of The Corners of Brookfield mixed-use project here.

CarVal Investors' stake in the project was revealed at a public meeting in Brookfield on Wednesday night, according to the Milwaukee Business Journal. M&J Wilkow Ltd., a Chicago real estate firm, will own 10% and be responsible or day-to-day management of the center once its in operation. The remaining 10% will be owned by Milwaukee-based Marcus Corp., which is developing the project.

The $125-million project will feature 240,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, 150 apartments, and a 140,000-square-foot Von Maur department store. The project is to be located at West Blue Mound Road at a site that includes a vacant Marcus movie theater and a vacant Menards. See story in the Milwaukee Business Journal.
