LOS ANGELES-Transwestern welcomes former CBRE senior VP David Henry as its new managing director of the west coast tenant advisory services group, GlobeSt.com learns exclusively. Henry will lead the ongoing west coast expansion of the group, currently to Seattle, as well as serving occupier clients with needs in both domestic and international markets by maintaining and growing the group's relationship with BNP Paribas.

“David is one of the preeminent professionals in this specialty in the country and in the world,” George Garfield, president of Transwestern's west region, tells GlobeSt.com. "I am fortunate to now have him as a partner in a group that we want to build. David also has global experience and an interest in building, which is something that we are doing both on the west coast and though our alliance with BNP Paribas.”

Henry's skills and experience come from a 15-year career working with firms Jones Lang LaSalle and CBRE. He has negotiated $1 billion in lease, sublease, purchase and sale transactions for clients like Disney, Parsons, Dole and JPMorgan Chase, including the 2011 sale of Parsons headquarters campus in Pasadena, CA. While at JLL, Henry was one of the top 3% annual producers in North America, earning him multiple LaSalle Club Awards.

Henry steps into his new role at Transwestern with a set of goals aimed at protecting the group's standard of providing clients with tailored service from senior-level team members. “I plan to grow our practice in the West while fiercely safeguarding our culture,” Henry tells GlobeSt.com. "We aren't going to be hiring people, we are going to be selecting people and they are going to have to fit in with our inherent culture.”

The Transwestern culture is one unique to the firm's smaller size, compared to competitors like JLL and CBRE. Although they have a rapidly growing domestic and international reach, the group continues to have senior-level team members work directly with clients, a quality that Henry found very appealing. “Transwestern is one that places the client first, above all else, and is also very collaborative and team oriented,” says Henry. “We're going to have managing-level and VP-level team members actually touching the clients every single day as opposed to delegating those duties down the line of command. That is what I think clients deserve and that is what they expect.”

In addition to Henry, Transwestern has also hired Amber Strang to lead tenant advisory services national platform, based in Dallas, Texas, and Atlanta heavy-hitters Clark Dean and Bradley Fulkerson, who will lead the southeast tenant advisory services team.
