LOS ANGELES-National real estate investment and management company the Laramar Group has named Matthew Levy as VP of acquisitions. Levy brings a myriad of experience to the company with more than 10 years working in acquisitions, planning, development and multi-family investment, as well as experience managing capital investments, infrastructure development and land-use planning for the City of Los Angeles as deputy to city councilmember Tom LaBonge.
“As we continue to focus on the Southern California market, Matt will be a critical member of our team, and we look forward to bringing his knowledge, expertise and leadership to our California platform,” says Keith Harris, chief investment officer of The Laramar Group, in a statement.
Levy holds a masters of planning from the University of Southern California, and has previously worked as the VP of acquisitions for Frost/Chaddock Developers LLC and the acquisitions and project manager at Casden Properties LLC. While at Casden Properties, Levy helped to secure the acquisition of a pipeline in Southern California with more than 3,000 residential units and 500,000 square feet of commercial space.
“Matt Levy brings strong fundamentals and experience in identifying investment opportunities in the western US, particularly the California market,” says Harris.
The Laramar Group has been growing their Southern California platform, most recently with the acquisition of JB Partners Group. The acquisition adds five new owned properties and 77 managed properties, totaling 7,000 units, to the company's portfolio, while adding 170 new JB Partners Group employees to the Laramar Group team.
