HEWLETT, NY—Having acquired a site in this Long Island suburb, Simone Healthcare Development Group has announced plans for a new medical office building offering primary, specialty and urgent care services. Located at 1436 Broadway, the facility has already been pre-leased on a long term to a major hospital. It is scheduled for a spring 2014 opening.

“The process of delivering quality medical services is evolving rapidly, as most major hospitals in the New York metropolitan area were built half a century ago or more,” relates Joseph Kelleher, president of Simone Healthcare Development. “As hospitals and other healthcare providers look for new and innovative ways of delivering the best care, we are partnering with them to develop and manage the new facilities they need in order to accomplish those goals.”

The company has built over two million square feet of medical space over the past several years. Currently, it's also working with Montefiore Medical Center, Mount Sinai Hospital and other major health care providers on new outpatient care centers. These include a 280,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art multidisciplinary ambulatory care center within Simone's 42-acre Hutchinson Metro Center office park in the Bronx. It's also fresh off the purchase of Park Avenue Medical Arts Center on East 88th St. in Manhattan, which the company will renovate and update.
