Report: Google Pays $25M for PepsiCo Plant

PRYOR CREEK, OK-Google is now in possession of a vacant 1.4 million square feet plant for a fraction of what PepsiCo paid to build the LEED gold-certified facility a few years ago.

PRYOR CREEK, OK-The local media reports that Google Inc. paid $24.5 million to acquire ownership rights to a former Gatorade manufacturing plant in the massive MidAmerica Industrial Park. In acquiring the vacant facility, Google paid a fraction of the amount of PepsiCo’s investment just five years ago.

During the mid-2000s, PepsiCo invested $180 million to build the plant at 3500 Main St. MAIP, also known as US 69A, northeast of Tulsa. The plant obtained Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design gold certification, and was developed in response to rising demand for Gatorade drinks.
