CHICAGO—J.D. Salazar founded Champion Realty Advisors, LLC in 1997 and went on to represent some of the region's largest real estate companies including ProLogis and First Industrial Realty Trust. His firm has now become Fischer & Company – Chicago and he will assume the title of executive vice president, managing director. Fischer is a Dallas-based company with seven offices nationwide and plans to expand the Chicago office under Salazar with brokers focusing on industrial, office and retail.

Salazar has represented Ozburn-Hessey Logistics, a Tennessee-based 3PL, in their acquisition of more than 3,000,000-square-feet of space in the Chicago area; represented Kellogg's in a build-to-suit 1,034,000-square-foot regional distribution center; and the Gillette Company in a build-to-suit 532,000-square-foot distribution center.

He also represented ProLogis in a variety of transactions including: the leasing of an 806,400-square-foot regional distribution center to Kraft Foods Global Inc.; the leasing of 750,485-square-feet to Kimberly Clark; and the acquisition of 316 acres for two new business parks in the Chicago metropolitan area.

Salazar has completed over 10-million-square-feet of transactions totaling more than $750 million in value. He has served as a member of the Greater Chicago Food Depository's Board of Directors since 2002, and was recently chosen by Chicago United as a distinguished Business Leader of Color.
