LOS ANGELES-Lee & Associates L.A. North/Ventura Inc. has launched Fisher|Berzack Institutional Advisors, a national multifamily group designed to serve institutional investors specifically, GlobeSt.com reports exclusively. The group will be based in Lee & Associates' Sherman Oaks office and will offer both traditional brokerage services and preferred equity financing.

Jim Fisher and Warren Berzack, the group's namesakes and two of the region's top multifamily brokers, will lead the group as managing directors. "Jim and Warren bring together not just transactional expertise, but also a level of market knowledge and strategic insight that is unrivaled in the industry," says Mike Tingus, president of Lee & Associates-L.A. North/Ventura. "I have no doubt that clients will quickly come to regard Fisher|Berzack Institutional Advisors as a go-to source for sound advice and guidance in executing institutional investment transactions in today's complex market.”

With more than 30 years of experience, Fisher was ranked top broker in 2012 by Lee & Associates-L.A. North/Ventura and best broker in his product specialty by the Los Angeles Business Journal. Berzack is also one of the firm's top-ranking brokers and was named as one of Real Estate Forum's “Tomorrow's Leaders of Southern California.” The firm also includes Mike Smith and Stephen Geiger as senior directors.

"We are very excited to bring all of our institutional expertise together into this major national platform," says Fisher. "Our team intimately understands the unique and complex needs of institutional owners and investors. We look forward to giving these clients an unmatched service experience."

The group has racked $5 billion in sales and produced $175 million in preferred equity to the recapitalization of the Parkmerced Apartments. These successes come from an aggressive brokerage team with immense industry knowledge as well as valuable experience as both client and broker: every broker in the group is also a multifamily owner.

"What differentiates Fisher|Berzack is our ability to deliver representation that is hands-on, agile and aggressive, all with absolute integrity and meticulousness," Berzack says. "Institutional clients entrust us with their assets because we sincerely take their objectives as our own."

GlobeSt.com has recently reported some notable activity involving institutional investors, including the recent acquisition of the Crenshaw Village apartment portfolio, as well as the Regent Properties Fund II, which generated $60 million in commitments from institutional investors.
