MENLO PARK, CA-Facebook Inc. has completed the permit process and is ready to go with construction its new West Campus here.

The Silicon Valley Business Journal, citing city records, said ground work would begin this week. The social media giant has demolished the existing structures completed grading the 22-acre parcel.

Facebook will build a 430,000-square-foot project, and award winning architect Frank Gehry will lead the design. The striking plans depict an enormous single room on pylons over parking, with trees on the roof.
