I am in London this week and in and around real estate circles, it's clear that a recovery is afoot. Central London pricing is in the high atmosphere, and investors are beginning to explore secondary and tertiary markets for better yields. Development is coming to life, but not at the same pace as we are experiencing in the US. Other Euro markets are likewise feeling the love, but not as much as the UK.
Okay, so what's the problem?
The US Congress. UK and Euro business leaders are pretty much as disgusted over the goings-on in DC as we in the States are. The fear is that if the US sneezes, Europe catches a cold. As an American, I am sad to see front-page headlines poking fun at our Executive Branch and Congressional team for their dangerous game of brinksmanship.
Too bad we don't have term limits so we could sweep this increasingly ineffective gang out of Washington.
That's all from London. I'll be back stateside for next week's “Watch.”
