FORT LEE, NJ-At the groundbreaking for the Hudson Lights mixed-use project here Wednesday, Tucker Development announced that an iPic theater with an in-theater restaurant will be a major tenant.
The first phase of the development is to include about 143,000 square feet of retail space and 276 luxury apartments with a pool, lounge, fitness center, rooftop terrace and gardens.
The iPic theater is designed to allow movie-goers “ultimate comfort,” according to iPic, which currently operates nine theaters with 67 screens in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Texas, Washington and Wisconsin. Reclining chairs, pillows and blankets are provided to patrons – and servers will deliver food and cocktails throughout the running of a film from the in-theater restaurant, Tanzy Express.
“This area of Northern New Jersey is emerging as a rich cultural destination, and we are excited for iPic to be a major social cornerstone for this market,” said Hamid Hashemi, CEO of iPic Entertainment at the groundbreaking.
Hudson Lights – which will rise in two phases beside the George Washington Bridge - is approved for another 201 residential units and an additional 50,000 square feet of retail space and parking, as well as a 175-room hotel.
The zoning also permits the option for an office building of up to 430,000 square feet.
Tucker Development Corporation is developing the project with Kushner Real Estate Group and Ares Management.
