NEW YORK CITY–CBRE has been retained to market for lease the entire 21st floor of the New York Times building, at 620 Eighth Ave. The last of the seven floors owned by the Gray Lady, the space measures 30,917 square feet.
The CBRE team of Mary Ann Tighe, CEO, New York tri-state region; Zachary Freeman, SVP; Ramneek Rikhy, VP, Gregory Tosko, vice chairman and Sacha Zarba, EVP will market the space, which will be available for occupancy in April 2014.
“The 21st floor of 620 Eighth Avenue offers a ready-to-go, state-of-the-art opportunity with views of the Hudson River, Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building,” says Tosko. “The new 21st floor occupant will reap the benefits of the superior design and infrastructure of a thoughtful owner occupant, with features such as shade and lighting that automatically adjusts for time of day, day of the year and daylight. In addition, the 21st floor tenant will have access to the Times' cafeteria, which serves three meals daily, and the ability to use the 378-person auditorium on the ground floor of their building.”
The space is being positioned as “virtually column free with eight corners, floor to ceiling glass, and 9'7”- finished ceiling height, with an under-floor air and ceiling design that is efficient and provides the ultimate flexibility to change layouts without incurring the typical huge capital expense.”
A 1.6 million-square-foot, 52-story tower, the New York Times building is located between 40th and 41st streets, with proximity to Times Square, Grand Central Station, Pennsylvania Station and Port Authority Bus Terminal, as well as virtually every subway line in Manhattan. Tenants in the building include Goodwin Procter, Covington & Burling and Legg Mason.
