PHOENIX-As part of its move to boost its dedicated coverage of the metro area, GlobeSt.com has hired local award-winning journalist Suzanne Heyn as Phoenix correspondent. Heyn's hire is part of an overall effort to increase commercial real estate coverage in the region; an effort that includes a new weekly Phoenix alert and the upcoming RealShare Phoenix event, which will take place at the Phoenician Scottsdale on Dec. 12.

GlobeSt.com boosted news coverage in Phoenix following the website's relaunch earlier this year. Since that time, page view growth has taken off – traffic to the Phoenix page has increased by 65% over 2012.

As such, "increasing coverage in Phoenix by hiring a local, experienced reporter such as Suzanne was a logical next step, along with setting up the area's weekly alert and hosting the first RealShare Phoenix since 2008," says Michael Desiato, vice president with ALM's Real Estate Media Group. "The region is rebounding nicely from the financial meltdown, there's plenty of news on which to report, and Suzanne is a terrific representative for us there."

Heyn takes over the job of Phoenix coverage from – and reports to – GlobeSt.com's southwest bureau chief Amy Wolff Sorter.

Heyn brings years of writing experience for local newspapers, the Internet and magazines to GlobeSt.com. She's covered a variety of topics, including commercial real estate. Heyn also has worked as a Realtor.

The Phoenix alert will be emailed each Tuesday, and will provide comprehensive commercial real estate news and trends about the local market.
