OKLAHOMA CITY-The Daily Oklahoman reports that local developer Gary Brooks of Cornerstone Development has teamed with Indianapolis-based Milhaus Development to build a 327-unit multifamily property in the area's Midtown submarket. All-in costs for the project are estimated at $42.5 million.

The article reports that the location at NW 10 and Shartel Avenue was once the site of a nurses' housing tower. In fact, the formerly blighted area has enjoyed a revival, thanks to the addition of multi-housing, restaurants and shops, the article says. ADG Architecture is the designer of the as-yet unnamed property.

“It's hard to argue that Midtown offers the best quality of life for downtown residents right now if you're wanting more than just an apartment and a couple of restaurants,” Brooks told the Daily Oklahoman. “We have a lot larger mix of restaurants, bars, shops and employers right now. I loved it already, obviously, with me already building The Edge.”

The 250-unit Edge is currently going north at NW 13 and Walker at a cost of $36 million. For more information about these projects, log on here.
