SANTA MONICA, CA-Deluxe Entertainment has signed a 12-year lease with Hudson Pacific Properties for a 65,000-square-foot office property and production facility. Deluxe Entertainment currently occupies multiple offices in Santa Monica. This lease gives them the opportunity to consolidate into a single space. Deluxe Entertainment will move into the property in the first quarter of 2014.
“For years, Deluxe and its group of companies have been spread across different floors and different buildings in and around Santa Monica, and a consolidation under one roof in a state-of-the-art world class facility has been a goal of the company,” says Andrew Jennison of Industry Partners. Jennison, Travis Landrum and Jim Jacobsen of Industry Partners represented Hudson Pacific Properties in the lease transaction.
Hudson Pacific Properties purchased the building in March 2013 for $24.7 million and spent $5.5 million on renovations, adding 15,000 square feet of creative office and post-production space. Prior to Hudson Pacific Properties ownership, the facility was used as a sound stage for films and television, including 7th Heaven and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Creative office is expanding to non-creative companies, too, who are looking to capitalize off of the collaborative nature of the space. GlobeSt.com recently reported that CBRE unveiled its new Workplace360 headquarters in Downtown Los Angeles, becoming the first CRE company to adopt a creative-type of office space.
