CHICAGO—The CCIM Institute chose a new leadership team during their conference last week in Denver. The Chicago-based trade association, an affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS®, confers the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation.

Karl Landreneau will serve as the association's president in 2014. The long-time member of the CCIM instructor faculty is also the director of commercial sales and leasing for the New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Alexandria, and Lafayette, LA, offices of NAI Latter & Blum. Landreneau has served on various CCIM committees, the Board of Directors and graduated from the institute's Jay W. Levine Leadership Development Academy.

Landreneau has taken leadership roles in the commercial real estate sector for more than 13 years. He served as the chairman of the Commercial Business & Industry Team for the Louisiana Realtors Association in 2006 and president of the Commercial Investment Division of East Baton Rouge Parish in 2007. In addition, Landreneau has been instrumental in developing and continuing to improve the Louisiana Commercial Database.

I am honored to welcome Karl to the 2014 executive leadership team,” said Hank White, executive vice president and chief executive officer of the CCIM Institute. “Karl brings more than 13 years of commercial real estate experience to his new role, along with a great desire to expand the reach of CCIM's educational offerings.”

Mark Macek will serve as president-elect in 2014 and take office as president in January 2015. Macek has more than 23 years of experience in commercial real estate and is president and owner of Macek Companies, Inc., in Great Falls, MT, a real estate company that specializes in commercial real estate brokerage, commercial and residential property management, and real estate development.

Macek has served as CCIM's 2013 first vice president, on the Board of Directors and on several of the organization's committees including the Strategic Planning Committee, National Legislative Committee and Member Services Committee. He also graduated from the institute's Jay W. Levine Leadership Development Academy.

And Steven Moreira was elected to serve as first vice president in 2014. Moreira has more than 35 years of experience in commercial real estate and is president of Magic Properties and Investments, Inc., a Longwood, FL-based commercial real estate company.

Also in Denver last week, the institute awarded the CCIM designation to another 221 professionals. To earn the designation, professionals must complete more than 200 hours of case-study driven education.

Each designee has worked very hard and has put forth ample effort into achieving the CCIM designation, which will pay off throughout their entire commercial real estate career,” said Landreneau, “I am pleased to welcome this new group of designees into our esteemed network of CCIM real estate professionals that are consistently sought out in the industry for their competence, work ethic and analysis expertise.”
