PLEASANTON, CA-Stoneridge Creek Pleasanton, said to be the first new continuing care retirement community to be built in the East Bay in decades, has celebrated its official grand opening. As GlobeSt.com reported a few years ago, the $100-million was generated huge demand even before it broke ground.
Stoneridge Creek has been six years in the making when you factor in planning and construction. Phase I of Stoneridge Creek cost more than $100 million to build. The 46-acre community will encompass up to 635 residences ranging from one-bedroom apartment-style homes to three-bedroom single-story “villas” with attached garages. All floor plans feature full kitchen and laundry amenities. To date, more than 300 seniors have moved in and nearly 200 villas and homes are occupied.

“The grand opening celebrates a tremendous achievement that's been in progress for years, from initial concept to resident move-ins,” says Troy Bourne, vice president of planning for Stoneridge Creek. “Stoneridge Creek truly illustrates our vision for what a continuing care retirement community should be for seniors, and it's been brought to life by hundreds of new residents and employees as well as countless community leaders. The celebration was for everyone involved with Stoneridge Creek, but especially for the residents who waited patiently and never lost faith that their dream would come true. Stoneridge Creek is their passport to better living, and we are excited to welcome them to the most exciting chapter of their lives.”
The new community features Ohlone Hall performing arts center, community library, Legacy movie theater, wine room, pool and fitness center, salon and spa, short-game golf course, tennis courts, outdoor fireplace lounge, gardens, dog park and other amenities.
The grand opening for Stoneridge Creek Pleasanton followed a ribbon-cutting sponsored by the city of Pleasanton for the new Stoneridge Drive road extension, the Stoneridge Creek Neighborhood Park and the extension of the Arroyo Mocho Trail to Livermore. The extension of Stoneridge Drive provides access to the new retirement community.
Designed for people aged 60 and older, Stoneridge Creek is located at 3300 Stoneridge Creek Way. The continuing care retirement community offers a variety of housing options; a comprehensive package of services, amenities and activities including fine dining and transportation; and convenient access to assisted living and long-term nursing care services at Creekview Health Center, if ever needed.
Creekview Health Center is being constructed adjacent to Stoneridge Creek and is expected to open in 2014. The health center will be open to the residents of Stoneridge Creek as well as the outside public when space is available. Creekview is not owned by Stoneridge Creek but will provide services to Stoneridge Creek residents under a priority contract. Services will include skilled nursing, assisted living and dementia care featuring a Memory Support Program in a specially designed Alzheimer's wing in the assisted living facility.
The owner/operator of Stoneridge Creek is Carlsbad, CA-based Continuing Life Communities, Bourne previously told GlobeSt.com.
