PHILADELPHIA-Developers Bart Blatstein, president of Tower Investments, and Richard Soloff, CEO of Soloff Realty Development, were joined by city officials on Wednesday to break ground on a much needed retail project in North Philadelphia.

The Ninth Street Marketplace Shopping Center project to be built on a nearly 2.5-acre lot in the Ludlow section of the city will include a Bottom Dollar Foods supermarket and a Dollar General store, according to the Inquirer.

Blatstein said the center will be "providing food to a community that needs it." He added, "The Ludlow community is deserving and in need of this,"

The developers stated the land acquisition and construction costs for the 41,600-square-foot center will total $12 million. See story in The Inquirer.
