BERKELEY, CA-The University of California Press is selling its Berkeley building, marketing it as a development site. The company will move to Oakland, and has issued a call for bids to start at $4.75 million, or about $196 per square foot for its three-story building at 2120 Berkeley Way, according to a recent report in the San Francisco Business Times.
The Berkeley building contains about 24,237-square-feet of office space built in 1924 and renovated in 1983. The sale is being handled by Gordon Commercial Real Estate.
UC Press recently leased 25,000 square feet in in Lake Merritt Tower at in Oakland.
