NEW YORK CITY-Retail specialist Scott Edlitz has joined Colliers International as a senior managing director in the firm's retail services group, and he has finalized a long-term, 19,000-square-foot lease for David Barton Gym at the Limelight.

Prior to joining Colliers International, Edlitz was the executive managing director of the retail services team at NAI Global and led the firm's international retail services initiatives. Previously, he was the founder and managing Principal of ZE Realty Group. He began his career at RKF & Associates, where he served as a managing director.

The newest David Barton Gym will open at the Limelight—located at 20th street and sixth avenue—in the fall of 2014. Once a popular nightclub, the Limelight is home to an upscale shopping center. The landlord was represented in-house by Daniel Iwanicki, of Ashkenazy Acquisition Corp. Edlitz is representing David Barton Gym in several new locations.

This transaction is the latest in Edlitz' 17-year career, in which he has represented tenants, landlords and developers on a local and global scale. He has secured transactions with retailers such as Teavana, Morton Williams Supermarkets, Lululemon, Chipotle, Valley National Bank, Polo Ralph Lauren, New York Sports Club, Clarks Shoes, CVS, Chase Bank, Citibank and Walgreens, among others. Edlitz will continue to focus on retail leasing and sales transactions at Colliers International.

“Scott is a key addition to Colliers as we expand our retail services team in New York and his work with David Barton Gym perfectly demonstrates the kind of creative transactions he delivers,” says Joseph Harbert, president of Colliers' eastern region. “His extensive leasing portfolio and expert knowledge of the city's retail real estate market is a tremendous asset. Scott will be instrumental in our work with global brands that increasingly look to have a presence in New York City, and local brands that are looking to go global.”
