SAN FRANCISCO-Pacific Union Real Estate has expanded, opening a new office north of San Francisco in Petaluma. The expansion increases the company's Sonoma County footprint to six offices, including three in Santa Rosa, one in Healdsburg, and one in downtown Sonoma.

At press time 19 established real estate professionals had joined the company to anchor the Petaluma office. “We are excited to welcome these very successful and highly skilled real estate professionals to our team,” explains Mark A. McLaughlin, CEO of Pacific Union.

The Petaluma branch, located at 755 Baywood Dr. 2(nd) floor, will be managed by Jim Michaelson, who is highly regarded in Sonoma County real estate circles, according to a prepared statement. He will be joined by fellow real estate professionals Deb Cheda, Steven Cozza, Jan Frost, Gael Grove, Nieves Hargrove, Heidi Hemstalk, Robin Hubbard, Kerry Jones, Ellen Lesher, Alan Maciel, Rose Marshall, Shar Nadale-DeSantis, Tony Parrish, Sean Payne, Molly Row, Kathryn Santos, and Ted Weber.

“This new group is reflective of our very high standards of performance and professionalism, and we are looking forward to the energy they bring the entire organization,” adds McLaughlin.

Over the past three years, Pacific Union has made significant strides in capturing a bigger piece of Sonoma County's market share. From January to December 2010, the brokerage firm ranked ninth among brokerages in market share in Sonoma County. By the end of the second quarter of 2013, Pacific Union had increased its market share by 181% over three years. Pacific Union now ranks third among Sonoma County brokerages.

As GlobeSt.com recently reported, some firms see the area of Petaluma as a new technology hub of the North Bay. “The area continues to be seen as the tech hub of the North Bay and provides the lifestyle we were seeking, while still allowing easy access to San Francisco and beyond,” explained Basin Street Properties founder and CEO Chip Roberson.
