CHICAGO—Baum Realty Group, LLC, a retail brokerage firm, just completed two leases for Porsche Design which will launch the luxury retailer in the Chicago market. The Austria-based firm designs a host of lifestyle products, including footwear, eyewear and personal electronics, and this week it will open an outlet at The Shops at North Bridge located at 520 N. Michigan Ave in Chicago. And a second location will open next spring at Oakbrook Center, in suburban Oak Brook.

"Our challenge was to find a location that balanced intense foot traffic with sophisticated consumers," says Adam Secher, a broker and principal with the Chicago-based Baum. Secher and Janika Brenner, another Baum principal, represented Porsche Design in both transactions.

Porsche Design sells products worldwide from its flagship stores, franchise stores, high-end department stores and at select upscale specialist retailers. The store at the Shops at North Bridge on Michigan Ave. is a 1,300-square-foot space located on the 2nd floor, near the entrance to Nordstrom's. The Oakbrook Center location is a 1,000-square-foot space adjacent to the new Apple store.

"Bringing Porsche Design to Chicago is an obvious choice," says Justin Pauly, local licensee for the brand. "Porsche Design is known for iconic products and its long lineage of inspired design. Chicago has that same authenticity and similarly recognizable design heritage. It only makes sense that we offer Porsche Design's premium product offering to residents and visitors here."

“Both the Oak Brook and Michigan Avenue locations offer that balance between an exclusive consumer profile and incredible foot traffic," adds Brenner. "We think they'll be extremely successful in each location."
