CHICAGO—Paine/Wetzel TCN Worldwide has just hired Andrew James as its managing principal. Prior to joining Paine/Wetzel, James, 50, was the Midwest regional partner for DP Partners. He was responsible for the development of all commercial facilities and parks, land acquisition for build-to-suit and speculative industrial buildings and the investment in existing commercial buildings in the Midwest. His new responsibilities at the Chicago-based Paine/Wetzel will include managing the firm and implementing strategic business plans.

“Andy has a deep understanding of the Chicago market and we are pleased to welcome him to the Paine/Wetzel team,” says Paine/Wetzel TCN Worldwide President and Principal Jerry Sullivan. “He has the extensive experience and knowledge that can drive results and further strengthen our team.”

James also spent seven years representing the Chicago office of Duke Realty Corporation. As their senior vice president for the Industrial Group, he was responsible for land acquisition, development, redevelopment, and leasing of the company's Chicago portfolio. In 2004, James' group was named Duke's “Industrial Sales Team of the Year,” and in 2007 Crain's Chicago Business named Duke “Developer of the Year.”

Prior to joining Duke, James served as vice president of development and general counsel for Browning Investments, an Indianapolis-based industrial/office developer. Before that he was a litigation partner with Chicago law firm Burke, Warren, MacKay &Serritella, P.C.
