COLUMBUS— The Grandview Heights Planning Commission has approved plans by the Columbus-based Nationwide Realty Investors for the next phase of their development at Grandview Yard, which call for a new office building, parking garage and restaurant.

“We are pleased to be moving forward with the next phase of Grandview Yard,” says NRI President and COO Brian J. Ellis. “Our early successes and the strong market demand continue to drive our planning and development strategy for our office, residential, restaurant and retail uses.”

In September, GlobeSt.com reported that NRI had begun construction on the Keystone building, the second phase of its Grandview Yard Apartments. That construction will add an additional 120 upscale units located in three-interconnected four-story buildings and bring the project up to 274-units.

Included in this just-announced phase of the project is a 75,000-square-foot, three-story office building located at the corner of Goodale Blvd. and Yard Street. A new two-story, 505-space parking deck will support the multi-tenant, class A building. NRI also plans on opening an 18,000-square-foot Hofbrauhaus restaurant and German bier hall, modeled after Munich's legendary 420 year-old Hofbrauhaus, in fall 2014.

The total office space completed or underway at Grandview Yard now totals over 200,000-square-feet. Located on the former Big Bear warehouse site and encompassing nearly 100 acres, NRI's Grandview Yard will eventually include up to 2-million-square-feet of commercial space. The master plan also includes new community parks and significant infrastructure improvements. In addition, Grandview Yard was certified as a LEED-ND silver community, the highest rated neighborhood by US Green Building Council.
