Public Storage Float Wins Design Award

GLENDALE, CA-Public Storage's Rose Bowl Parade float, Adventures in Space, wins the Grand Marshal's Trophy for creativity and design.

GLENDALE, CA-Adventures in Space, Public Storage‘s Rose Bowl Parade float, has won the Grand Marshal’s Trophy award for creativity and design. Charles Meier designed and Paradiso Floats built the winning float.

Adventures in Space featured multiple components. Beginning as a single float with spaceship, the float soared 45 feet into the air where ramps stemmed from the “UFO” and three aliens descended. The aliens then traveled around the ship on separate, smaller floats. The aliens eventually re-boarded the spaceship, which then landed back on the float and continued along the parade route. The float is the first in the parade’s history to assemble and disassemble during the parade.
