LOS ANGELES-Camden Property Trust has hired SBE Entertainment's Sam Nazarian to design its Hollywood mixed-use property, the Camden. Nazarian, who is of course famous for his ultra-trendy hotels, nightclubs and restaurants like Katsuya and Colony, will bring his savvy hospitality perspective to this mixed-use development.
Located on the corner of Vine and Selma, the 287-unit Camden will be done in a resort meets high-end apartment community style targeting young entertainment industry professionals. The property will feature atypical common areas meant to drive interaction, like an artist's annex for photographers, painters and writers, an indoor-outdoor recreational space with a kitchen, pool and spa, dog park and landscaped garden. Nazarian isn't missing any opportunities to incorporate technology into the space. The dog park will have a media platform where residents can share pet photos and the artist's annex features a soundproof musician's room. Camden residents will also have VIP access to Nazarian's Katsuya restaurant and Colony nightclub.
These spaces will be designed by TCA Architects, who recently won two Grand Awards from the National Association of Home Builders for innovation in designing multifamily communities for the millennial generation. Nazarian, too, has made a name for himself appealing to the millennial generation, combining sophistication and cool.
