AUBURN, WA-The city of Auburn has sold two downtown blocks for projects that will add apartments and retail space adjacent to the Sound Transit station.

Teutsch Partners LLC, ofSeattle, paid nearly $1.75 million for the parcels within the city's downtown redevelopment district. The developer hopes to start construction next fall on up to 200 apartments and related retail.

The city's economic development manager, told the Puget Sound Business Journal transit-oriented site will be great for people who work in Seattle but are looking for more affordable residences.
