NEW YORK CITY-Richards Kibbe & Orbe will continue to occupy its headquarters space at 200 Liberty St., part of the Brookfield Place complex in Lower Manhattan. The law firm has renewed its 59,323-square-foot lease; it was represented in the transaction by Colliers International.

RK&O serves the financial and business communities and has offices in New York City, Washington, DC, and London. The firm occupies the entire 28th and 29th floors at 200 Liberty St. Brookfield Place is in the midst of a $250 million transformation to create a best-in-class retail, dining and entertainment complex. Formerly known as the World Financial Center, the entire complex is owned and operated by Brookfield Office Properties. It includes additional buildings along Vesey and West streets.

“The floor plate, location, and renovation to the Brookfield Place complex provide RK&O with an excellent platform to continue the firm's prosperity well into the future,” says Ted Rotante, executive managing director with Colliers, who arranged the renewal on behalf of RK&O. “Brookfield's redesign of the retail, dining, and public spaces in Brookfield Place, when combined with the outdoor space, retail and transportation at the World Trade Center campus, offer a plethora of amenities for RK&O's clients and employees.”

David Cheikin and Christopher Zizza of Brookfield Office Properties represented the landlord in-house in the transaction. 200 Liberty St. is the southernmost office tower at the Brookfield Place complex. The building features 1.7 million square feet of office and retail space, along with interior and exterior public amenities. Other tenants include international corporate firms such as Willis and Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft.

Brookfield Place encompasses more than eight million square feet within the four unique copper-crowned granite and glass office towers designed by Cesar Pelli. The complex features extensive public spaces, dozens of shops and restaurants, and an outdoor waterfront esplanade along the Hudson River.
