HOUSTON—Memorial City is the new home for Air Liquide, the French producer and supplier of industrial gas. The company announced plans to move its American corporate headquarters from the Houston Galleria area to the new Air Liquide Center in Memorial City in Houston.
MetroNational is developing Air Liquide Center which will consist of a two buildings, a 20-story, 452,000 square-foot tower and an adjacent 145,000 square-foot building, located at 9811 and 9807 Katy Freeway. Construction for both buildings will begin later this month with completion of the entire project slated for November 2015.
The buildings will be located in Memorial City, a high- end mixed-use development located in west Houston along I-10 just inside Beltway 8.

Air Liquide plans to locate its administrative and industrial operations in 155,000 square feet on the upper six floors of the 20-story, with expansion options. The Engineering & Construction operations will occupy 67,000 square feet on two floors of the second building.
Doug Elliott Senior Vice President with CBRE represented Air Liquide in the transaction.
Morris Architects is the architect for the Tower building and Gensler is the architect for the second building and will design Air Liquide's interiors in both buildings. Both buildings are LEED Silver pre-certified and will connect to a network of skywalks providing access to Memorial City Mall.
Houston is “zone headquarters” for Air Liquide's U.S. and American operations and one of three global hubs for the company.
