LOUISVILLE—Dermody Properties has just purchased 18.4 acres in Renaissance South Business Park near the Louisville International Airport and plans to develop a 316,491-square-foot warehousing and distribution building, known as LogistiCenter Louisville, on the site.
The Reno, NV-based industrial developer bought the land from the Louisville Renaissance Zone Corp., an airport-affiliated agency that oversees development at the business park. The 450-acre park sits just south of the airport and near United Parcel Service's Worldport air-cargo hub and its ground-sorting facility, Centennial Hub.
“This location offers immediate access to the Louisville airport, the UPS Worldport hub and I-65, making it a premier location for an e-commerce fulfillment center in the Midwest United States,” says Brian Quigley, a partner with Dermody Properties' Midwest Region Office. “Renaissance South Business Park is a transportation-advantaged location, which will drive logistics savings in both time and money for our customers.”
Dermody and its partner PCCP, LLC plan to break ground in March 2014 and complete construction sometime this fall.
“The development of LogistiCenter Louisville is consistent with our strategy of providing new class A industrial product in key logistics markets with sustainable demand drivers,” says Douglas A. Kiersey, Jr., president of Dermody.
LogistiCenter is a national trademark brand, owned and developed by Dermody. The firm has completed ten LogistiCenters, which use sustainable design and incorporate features such as additional clear height and extra trailer and car parking.
