LOS ANGELES-Karlin Real Estate has hired Michael Hurst as co-managing director of the real estate lending group. He will be leading the real estate lending group with fellow co-managing director Larry Grantham, who has headed the group since it launched in 2011.

“Our debt platform continues to grow in response to the evolving capital markets,” says Matthew Schwab, Karlin Real Estate managing director. “We are confident Mike will accelerate this growth by bringing to Karlin a wealth of experience in the sourcing, structuring and pricing of new opportunities.” Karlin’s lending group has originated $400 million in debt, both short-term senior and mezzanine.
